Day 3 - Ocean Park

Our plan today would be a jam-packed day of excitement at one of the Southeast Asia's largest aquariums and theme parks - Ocean Park Hong Kong.

We got our day started by having breakfast at Chao Fa Restaurant.

We ordered a plate of fish congee and chu cheong fan. Look how smooth the fish congee is!

As for the chu cheong fan, for me it is moderate. Nothing special about it. I prefer those in Malaysia.

We got the ball rolling at about 9am, we took the MTR from TST to Admirality Station and hopped onto bus 629 towards Ocean Park. At about 20 min of travelling, finally we reached.

We got ourselves the admission tickets at HKD 208 each.

At the main entrance, there was a bird encounter show. The parrot was well-trained by its trainer and able to perform very well to cheer the crowds around.

After studying through the map we decided to start from Tai Shue Wan entrance and exit via the main entrance. Hence, we took the free shuttle bus from the main entrance to Tai Shue Wan main entrance. From there our journey in Ocean Park started...

Our first stop station was Flamingo Pond. Look how long legs the flamingo had.

There was also a garden paradise built beside the pond. A beautiful and calm scene.

Inside the pond there were also swans whom are enjoying themselves while sun bathing on this sunny day.

Then, we headed towards Tai Shue Wan escalator which will bring us to Pacific Pier. At the changing stop of the escalator we saw some people playing The Raging River. It's fun, but definitely it will get you wet!

The escalator brought us towards a higher part of Ocean Park, and from there we saw a panaromic view of all the entertainment facilities eg, the Ferris wheel and the gigantic dragon roller coaster that will hurl you at hurricane speed...

The escalator finally lead us towards the Pacific Pier which is the home of Califonia sea lions and harbor seals.

Without wasting our time, we headed towards the Ocean Theatre to get a good seat for the Sea Dreams Theatre show.

While waiting for the show to start, we saw people playing the Abyss turbo drop which guarantees a 60 metres drop in a split of a second. We could hear screaming sound whenever the drops occurred.

Besides that, there were a live band performance whom produce some very classical music to entertain us.

At 11.30am sharp, the show started and we were greeted by a school of dolphins coming of top speed and jumped up gracefully into the air and dived back into the water majestically. What a moment!

These talented marine mammals and trainers presented a show which simply reflect the dream of how human and animals could live together with love and respect. Look how well the dolphins and the sea lions performed. They can wave, post and "walk" on the water too! Do not miss out this show if you were to visit Ocean Park.

After 45 minutes of entertainment, it was almost lunch time. We headed towards Atoll Reef area for our beloved McD. We ordered a pork burger and some nuggets for lunch. I wished we could have this burger sold in Malaysia. It was mouth watering.

While we were enjoying our lunch, we saw human skeletons in front of us! Gosh.. it was only a decoration in conjunction of Halloween celebration.

We could see Jack-0'-lantern everywhere.

As we were in Atoll Reef area, after our filling lunch, we started of exploration of deep ocean experience at Atoll Reef.

Atoll Reef is one of the best aquariums in Asia. It consisted 4 level of aquarium experience which provide an experience walking in a deep ocean while getting close to nearly 2000 of colourful fishes and here it goes...

Look, how colourful the oreefs were.

Our beloved Nemos and sea horses.

The underwater aquariums with thousand of sea creatures.

Next up, would be the Sea Jelly Spectacular. These small creatures would glow in different colour when lights are shown towards them. Cute!

After that, we took the cable car from highland area downwards the lowland area for our last 2 stops of the day - Sky Fair and HK Jockey Club Giant Panda. The cable car is a trilling experience for us. Nonetheless, we could enjoy some spectacular view along the cable car journey.

In the Sky Fair section, we were entertained by a circus theme show consist of gymnastic action and clown show.

At about 4pm, we left towards our last destination in Ocean Park - The Giant Panda. A gift for the people of Hong Kong, the two adorable young giant pandas Le Le and Ying Ying are now living happily inside Ocean Park.

Look, it was too shy to face us when we want to capture it's pic. So cute.

We did have a look inside the souveniers shop beside Panda Centre which sell everything related to Panda.

At about 5pm, we left Ocean Park towards Wan Chai for our next stop Golden Bauhinia.

One of the busy lanes of Wan Chai.

The most famous landmarks of Wan Chai would be the Golden Bauhinia and this was the place where we were heading to.

At about 15 minutes of walking from the Wan Chai MTR station, finally we reached Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). With a gull-shaped roof, it is well recognized.

Right behind HKCEC will be the Golden Bauhinia Square. This forever blooming Bauhinia is a gift from the Central Government to commemorate the establishment of HKSAR on 1/07/1997. Normally there are daily flag raising activities during the day.

It is one of the great advantage points to have a panoramic view of Kowloon & Victoria Harbour Panaromic skyline from the Bauhinia Square.

It's dinner time, we left towards the famous Yung Kee Restaurant in Central.

Yung Kee is famous for its roasted goose and pork meat.

Besides ordering the famous dishes, we got ourselves a plate of toufu and a glass of orange juice to trench our thirst.

Look, how well the meat is roasted. Crispy on the ouside, but it dont lose it's moisture on the inside. Brilliant.

When we finished our dinner, it was about 8pm when all the lights go down. So, our next destination was Lan Kwai Fong - a buzzing centre of clubs, bars and restaurant. We saw peoples enjoying their nights out with friends, have a cup of beer, share their experience... What a wonderful world.

For us, we were just people-watchers, after captured some pics, it's time to go back to get some rest. At about 10pm, we were back to our room. Done all the brushing up, we were off to bed. Yet again, an enjoying day out in Hong Kong.
