Day 3 - Paris ~ Chateau de Versailles

Our 3rd day in Paris and we are going to visit Chateau de Versailles.

Before departing from the hotel, surely we filled up our empty stomach with the delicious breakfast prepared by hotel staff.

Chateau de Versailles is one of the most splendid palace listed in Unesco World Heritage. It contains the famous Hall of Mirrors and, was built during the reign of Louis XIV in the 17th century and served as the royal palace until 1793. The palace is also noted for its gardens, which include some 1,400 fountains.

In order to get to Chateau de Versailles, we have to board the RERC and get off at the last station Versailles ChateauRG.

We reached at Chateau de Versaille after ~35 minutes ride.

It would be recommended to get there as earlier as possible. As you can see, the queue is really long.

At the central court of Chateau de Versaille.

The visit of Chateau de Versailles can be segmented into 4 area - The palace, Grand Trianon, The Garden and Marie-Antoinette's Estate.

The Gallery of the History of the Palace is located at the start of the Grand Apartments tours.

The King's Interior apartments.

The Royal Chapel.

Everything's golden and glittering in the Chateau de Versailles.

One of the "must see" - The Hall of Mirrors. Wow, huge crowd of people!

An audioguide in different languages comes along with the entrance ticket. It helps us to better understand the history of the palace.

Having some photo shoot out of the Palace.

Very beautiful courtyard.

The water parterres. View of the palace from the garden.

Beyond the Parterres, it is the Royal Walk of 335 metres long and 40 metres wide.

We have opted for simple lunch at the price of Euro 12.80 in the palace. Nutella waffle and pasta. :)

Quite expensive for a simple lunch.

A scenic scene like as though we are in the middle earth.

We returned back to the hotel and below is the entrance/exit of the metropolitan.

All french building architecture are very classical.

After some rest, we asked the help from our hotel's staff to recommend good place for dinner and were told Bistro des 2 Theatres would be a good choice. The restaurant is just a stone throw from the hotel and is accessible by walking. We walked to the restaurant without any reservation and we were lucky to get seated promptly.

This is where we had our dinner.

The restaurant had a nice ambience.

We have chosen for the three courses set menu with 1 bottle of wine and lavazza. The price is Euro 78 for 2 person.

The starter.

The main course - Roast duck breast fillet with mushroom sauce.

North atlantic fresh scallops parsley with potato puree.

The dessert.

Last but not least, the coffee lavazza.

We ended our Day 3 with wonderful evening at Bistro des 2 Theatres.
