Day 5 - Good Bye Bangkok

Today is our last day in Bangkok, we marked our final attendance with a pic together with the uniquely decorated kitchen of Take A Nap Hostel..

Before back to Malaysia, we went to have a praying at Erawan Shrine.

We were lucky enough as there are Thai dance around the corner.

As Erawan Shrine is located near Pratunam Area, we decided to take a stroll around that area. We saw the Bangkok famous Central World Plaza in front of us.

Along the street, there are a lot of stalls selling fruits and etc..

Guess what is this? It is a kind of tidbits with red bean fillings. Something special and worth trying!

Seng Hui, " Introducing Thai Coffee ! "

Some reminder for the tourist: Becareful of your belonging! Huang Ying's handphone was pick-pocketed by a guy at there. When the incident happened, we were really in a big shock. We chased after the guy pointed by Huang Ying based on her intuition. It was really funny as the pick pocket is so thick face that he could say a sorry word to us and then pass the handphone to us! So becareful folks!

Another incident, a guy whom seemed to be so friendly walked to us and told us something that were only known by local only. He told us that Bangkok has a temple for Lucky Buddha and it is only open for 1 day in a month and it was so coincidentally on this particular day, the temple is opened. He kept persuading us to go to the temple to pray for health and wealth and told us that can go there with tut-tut with cheap price. As we have read a lot of "story" from the forum, we knew that it was a prank! So, please do be extra careful on these and do not listen to this type of "kind" advice.

One of the scene inside Platinum Mall.

Pei Quan and me felt to have some tom yum again before back to Malaysia. Thus, we walked back to Central World Plaza to hunt for some nice food.

A cute tiger inside Central World Plaza.

We have choosen Phan-Khom Contemporary Thai Cuisine.

Unique decorations in the restaurant.

A glass of cool H2O to chill us.

Food of all Aseans. Thailand Fragrance Rice!

Our favourite Tom Yum Goong.

It was served in claypot and boiling hot! Pei Quan had 2 plates of rice because of this.

A Pad Thai Noodle with shrimp. A normal dish for me, but I gave thumbs up as the shrimp used are very fresh.

I love this Pork Satay with Peanut Sauce! Lean meats are used.

An homemade peanut sauce was served along the Satay. The sauce is different from the one we found in Malaysia as the peanut used are finely blended and it is not oily and nor too spicy.

Our dessert - Todsakan Ice Cream.

Pour the coconut milk onto the icecream before serving to give you the extra punch!

It was a wonderful lunch! We then went around Central World and saw this unique fish net hanging from the top of the floor until it's lower floor. Great art!

At about 4.30pm, we headed to the airport.

A pic of us with our full luggages at the departure hall!

Our last pic in Bangkok airport..

We had instant noodle for our dinner on the flight back.

Finally we are back to Malaysia. These are partial of our "Victory" Items from Bangkok.

It was a WONDERFUL, EVENTFUL trip for all of us. A great outings and we look forward for the future trip together!

Day 4 - Damnoen Saduak Floating Market | CBD Bangkok

We have booked a tour package from Mamatour for a half day tour at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market at the price of 350Baht per pax.

Waking up early this morning, the limo was waiting for us outside our hotel. We hop onto the limo and we were brought towards our destination.

Before that, I would blog about the history of this so call, Most Popular Floating Market in Bangkok.

"The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is located at Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi Province, about 105 kms from Bangkok. According to history around 1866, King Rama IV ordered that a 32 kms long canal be dug at Damnoen Saduak. This canal would connect the Mae Klong River with the Tacheen River. The excellent quality soil beside the canal is very fertile and suitable for growing many kinds of fruits and vegetables. The area is famous for Malacca grape, Chinese grapefruit, mangoes, bananas, and coconut." Quoted from here

As such, time flies, and it had turned into a tourist hub and it offers visitors to experience the old and traditional way of selling and buying fruits, vegetables, whereby, all the trading will be done on the boat or by the river bank. Interesting right?

The journey towards Damnoen Saduak was abt 2hrs from our hotel and once we reached, we were then transported into a small canal.

Becareful when you climb onto the canal as it might throw you into the river if there is any imbalance on either side. Haha.

5 of us plus a japanese guy(total 6 of us) hopped onto the canal. Our transporter was a lady in her mid-30s and she was seated at the rear.

Here we go...
Traditional wooden houses were built along the river...

Friendly uncle waving to us..

Our transporter huffed and puffed rowing the canal all by her own and finally we reached Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

The first thing we saw. Guess what? Jam. This is not traffic jam. I would call Boat Jam!

It was so happening along the market. The whole river were filled with canals!

We could see people trying to sell their product once you went pass their boat. But, we noticed that the price here is slightly more expensive.

Pictures is better than words. Enjoy...:)

Tried to shoot some potraits with my lovely compact FZ-28. When I can have my first DSLR, I wonder.. :P

Well, this is a must try. Mango Sticky rice. Extremely sumptuous!

Coconut ice cream. Hmm, I prefer the one in Chatuchak ;p but it still taste good.

Something special cooked in Thai style - Pork Noodles!

BBQ Banana! This is how they do the trading with us, using a long stick to reach us!

Thai Coffee. Not too sweet. Explicitly made!

Connie and Huang Ying waiting at the boat pier..

It's about time and we left from Floating Market towards the city. Our first destination, MBK Shopping Center. Welcome!

It's time to fill our stomach. Japanese food this time. We opted for Fuji Japanese Restautant.

One of the design in the restaurant.

Thailand is also well known for its Japanese Food. Tasty and cheap! The portion can easily fit for 2 person. However, as we need to replenish all the energy lost, each of us ordered a set for our own. Hehe..

After the lunch, shopping time! This is the shop where Connie and HuangYing got their bags. I would reccomend you guys this shop in MBK center. Great service and good price!

Now, this shop ChinaRong, where we got all the Bangkok specialties back.

We began headed down towards our next destination Siam Paragon. Before that, lets see how the traffic jam look like in Bangkok. Stunning isn't it? KL still lose to Bangkok. Haha.

Finally we reached the entrance of Siam Paragon. Look, everyone hands are full with souvenirs to be brought back to hometown.

We visited the famous Gourmet Market in Siam Paragon to grab more souvenirs back home!

We managed to try the spiral crispy potatoes coated in BBQ flavour. Very nice!

Shopping as part of our plan today, without wasting any time, we headed towards Central World for the shop which offers the famous Bangkok Bag a.k.a 曼谷包 - Naraya.

5 of us posting with all the "Victory Item" of Day 4. From souvenirs of Chinarong, Gourmet Market and Naraya. We have 2 thumbs up for this!

On top of central world we have the Redsky cafe located at the 55th floor. The highest peak in Bangkok!

The view on the 55th floor is just stunning! Absolutely magnificent. Do bring extra clothes when you visit as it will be cold and windy.

5 of us marked our presence there!

Not forgetting the pic of only 2 of us. :P

At around 11pm, we left and we ended our day in Mcd, for our dinner or supper. Introducing, Thailand Pork Burger. Hehe.

We ended our day here. Really enjoying every second we had in Bangkok!
