Day 2 - Paris ~ Eiffel Tower

It was Day 2 in Paris, officially our first full day in the city of romance. We started our day with a sumptuous buffet breakfast offered by our Hotel.

Typical french breakfast. :)

After the breakfast, we walked to St-Georges station. St-Georges station is very near to our hotel. Out of the entrance of our hotel turn right, straight down the road, you reached St-Georges Metropolitain.

We opted for the carnet of 10 tickets (Ticket t+) at the price Euro 13.10 which allowed us to travel for single continuous of any length through out the Metro system. We felt it is more worth compared to the Paris Visite Pass.

Our plan of the day was to visit Pont Alexandre III, Hotel National Des Invalides, Tomb of Napoleon, Dome Church, Parc Du Champ De Mars and Eiffel Tower.

We boarded the metro towards Mairie d'Issy direction and got off at 'Madeleine' to change to Line 8, and travelled towards Balard direction, and alighted at 'Invalides'.

Upon exiting Invalides Metropolitain, and wow, it was a sight to be remembered.

This is Pont Alexandre III. It was an arch bridge built between 1896 to 1900.

The sculpture ...

This is how you could pinch the Eiffel Tower using your fingers. :P

Thanks to my hubby, I made this my profile pic. :)

Another view of Pont Alexandre III.

Our second destination of the day is Hotel National Des Invalides, located not far from Pont Alexandre III. Hotel National Des Invalides is a complex and magnificent building which is built up by museum and monument relating to military history of France.

Having bought the Museum Pass, we are allowed to enter this place without buying any extra entrance tickets.

I love how the building in Paris. It is so classical.

In the musuem, you could see various armory worn by the Soldiers of France.

And some special monuments exhibited.

They even exhibit the armory of Chinese Soldier.

There were wall to wall drawings and believe me, the paintings are lively!

Some potraits of France. :)

We then proceeded to the Dome church, which was located at the center of Hotel National Des Invalides.

Dome church is where the Tomb of Napoleon were at.

View from outside of the Dome church.

After that, we had our lunch at Les Parisiennes. On why we chose this restaurant because, most of the restaurant closes their kitchen at 2.00pm. Fortunately Les Parisiennes is still open.

A very stylo restaurant from the outside...

and so from the inside.

Our Lunch at the price of Euro 31.40 for 2 person.

After lunch, we went to Eiffel Tower. The highlight of Day 2 itinerary. A sure visit place in Paris!

Finally we reached the foot of Eiffel.

As we did not book in advance, we had to queue to get our tickets. We got ourselves the "stairs entrance ticket up to 2nd floor" (Euro 5 per person).

Meaning, we will climb hundreds of steps up to the 2nd floor of Eiffel. Cool isn't it. It almost took my life away. ;p

And once we reached 2nd floor of Eiffel, there is another ticket booth on the 2nd floor which sell the tickets to the top of Eiffel. That is "lift ticket from second floor" and it cost Euro 5.50 per person. The price included a return ticket by lift back to the foot of the Eiffel.

In this way, it is a much cheaper alternative than taking a lift directly to the top.

We huffed and puffed to the 2nd floor of Eiffel Tower.

If you climbed the stairs you could enjoy the scenery at different height.

View of Parc du Champ de Mars from 2nd floor.

Enjoying the sunset of Paris along Siena River.

It is very cool up here. :)

There is also a champagne bar if you like to have one drink while enjoying the magnificent view of Paris.

Bird eye view of Jardin du Trocadero. Breathtaking!

Panoramic view from Eiffel Tower.

As night came, the city of lights lit up.

Slowly it became painted which mesmerizing lights.

Super cold. Super beautiful. Super romantic.

Eiffel itself was admiring.

We loved the view from bottom of Eiffel!

There is a time when Eiffel Tower will glow with flashing lights and we glad that we managed to capture this remarkable moment.

We ended our Day 2 with the night View of Eiffel.
