Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant -- 二重丸

On merdeka eve, we went to Nijyumaru, a well known Japanese Restaurant at Permas Jaya, JB to have our dinner. We reached there at about 8.30pm and as we have expected, it is full house. Besides that, there are still customer on queue.

We got our name onto the waiting list and according to the person in charge, we have to wait for an hour. Nevertheless, we still wait patiently outside as great food is awaiting us inside!

Finally, our turn came and we entered the restaurant. We were greeted in Japanese "irashaimase いらしゃいます" which means welcome to the store, when we entered. All the workers are well mannered and trained.

Looking onto the menu, the varieties of sushi offered by this restaurant is a lot. Price wise it is reasonable.

So let's see what delicious food we had ordered...

Unadon, fried uramaki, kawa mentaiko maki, sake haru maki, yasai salad, suimori, ebiko temaki, sake kawa temaki, unagi kyuri temaki, unagi kabayaki, gindara mentaiko...

This is the bottomless green tea we first received when we get seated.

We ordered a few types of makimono (Sushi role, 寿司手卷) This is the fried uramaki. 2 thumbs up for this. The sushi is mildy fried outside whereas the inside is still fresh and juicy. I like this a lot. RM16/plate.

Below are another type of makimano, it is called Sake Haru Maki. The sushi is wrapped with Salmon and arranged to form a flower shape with a small daisy at its center. At RM18/plate it is the king of all makimono. Must try!

Feeling hungry after seeing all the above? I bet you will. We ordered quite a few varieties of makimano apart from the above 2. It is shown below. The price ranges from RM10-18 only.

Apart from the makimono above, these are the temakis (Sushi hand roll 寿司手卷) that we have ordered. Not bad for this, but the seaweed leave is quite hard to chew. The price ranges from RM4-6 per roll.

We got 3 pieces of unagi inside the unadon that we have ordered, tasty and cheap. It came together with a miso soup too.

Yasai salad at RM7/plate. This is the first time I tried Japanese salad. Varieties of fresh vegetables combined to perfection. Brilliant!

This is one of the Sashimi Mori (Raw Fish Arrangement, 鱼生拼盘)- Suimori (水拼盘). The sashimi is well decorated on a plate and it is placed on top of dry ice to maintain its freshness. We can still see a cloud of white vapour from the sublimation of the dry ice. Cool~! RM38/plate

Next up, Gindara Mentaiko (Cod Fish, 鳕鱼) grilled in a Japanese style. Ichiban at RM23/plate.

Unagi lovers like me will not miss out any unagi offerings on the menu.

Recommended for japanese meals lovers to try on this restaurant. But make sure you guys made the booking early. The contact # is 07-3889818.
